Advanced oil study using sewn appliqué in the canvas layer which is supported by 1/2" MDO. Primed in black acrylic, thick impasto was then used to build an underpainting. After drying, the underpainting received many layers of Damar color glazes. This image will I think, eventually serve as the right-hand wing of a triptych.
