My collage work is eclectic. In recent years I've focused more on using graphic vinyls and reflective materials such as glass-embedded sign-vinyls upon a wide range of light substrates. Collage is traditionally enacted on a paper or paper-stock ground. More often, I've resorted to various plastics, and at times aluminum or wood. I try to use these industrial materials in a more 'off-handed,' and expressive way than the computer-plotted methods they are devised for. I feel there's a child-like grace to them. In addition, the reflective materials give an individual piece varying 'presence' with different combinations of artificial and natural light throughout the course of a day.
